Moose!

Moose on Wood. Acrylic.

This was a lovely Christmas presents for one of my best best friends. She loves moose and said she wanted anything related to them, so I figured I'd make this present a little more special and paint her something. First time ever painting on wood and found it a little difficult when the wood is not primed with anything beforehand. It's very absorbent and hard to move the paint very far. But it was a great learning experience, and I am quite pleased with how it turned out!

Illustration II 2010.

These are all assignments from my Junior year fall semester Illustration II class with a wonderful Ric Allendorf. He was extremely helpful and a fantastic teacher. This class was very important to me and I enjoyed every assignment we covered.

Painting for Illustrators 2010

All the paintings in this post are from my Junior Year class, Painting for Illustrators with Paul Olson, a very wonderful teacher! Most of these paintings were done in class with three hours to paint. This class definitely helped me with colors, it was my first real painting class too. But I believe I definitely improved as a painter by taking this class.

Advanced Drawing Work 2010

The following pieces were all assignments from my Junior year class, Advanced Drawing Project. All were done in 2010.

Black & White. 2 - 11"x17". Prismacolor Pencils.

We were assigned to take one object, either white or black, and draw it on a matching color surface. Then paint it the opposite color and again draw it on the same color surface. This was done right before Halloween so I decided to go with a theme relative to the holiday.

Clothed Object. 3 - 9" x 11" (?). Charcoal Pencil.

For this assignment we had to choose an object to place in a pillow case with various strings, bands, etc. around the object to give some clue but not much as to what the object in the pillow case was. We then guessed each person's objects based on the three drawings of the object. My object was a clothes hanger.

Sophomore Year Work!

So here's my first actual post with artwork. These are all works that I made my first semester Sophomore year, so they were all made in 2009. A little old, but showing the progress.

Which is probably not a whole lot of people seeing as how I haven't given this site out to many people...
